Preferred Hotels & Resorts welcomes 18 new members around the world

Sri Lanka has reopened its borders to foreign visitors – and the island’s two Anantara resorts are ready to welcome them: Anantara Kalutara Resort, with 141 rooms and suites, has already reopened to international guests since 6 February 2021. The Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort with 152 rooms and villas will follow from 22 February 2021.

We have already reported in detail here about the current entry requirements for Sri Lanka. Both resorts have been certified by the government as “Safe and Secure Level 1” accommodation. This means that foreigners can spend the first 14 days of their stay here in the “bio bubble” without any problems and also take up to three excursions to well-known attractions with an official escort.

Villas with private pools

The Anantara Kalutara Resort is located in the west of Sri Lanka directly on the beach on a river delta – surrounded by a tropical garden and only an hour’s drive from the capital Colombo. An exclusive living experience is promised by the 110-square-metre Presidential Suites and the nine pool villas with 170 to 190 square metres. Three restaurants serve international, Italian-Mediterranean and local cuisine. Relaxing massages and Ayurvedic treatments await you at the Anantara Spa.

The Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort is secluded on the southern coast of the island between a coconut plantation and a picturesque bay near the small town of Tangalle. This region is known for its golden sandy beaches with palm trees and rock formations that form small swimming pools in the surf. A special highlight of the resort are the 32 villas with private pools. Four restaurants and an Anantara Spa complete the offer.

Dinner included

The flexible rates start at EUR 234 per night at Kalutara Resort and EUR 248 at Peace Haven Tangalle Resort (plus 18.8 percent taxes and fees). For stays of five or seven nights or more, breakfast and daily dinner are included. If you pay at the time of booking, the current “Stay Longer Special” starts at EUR 188 or 197. However, this price is significantly reduced because every third night is free of charge. The special can be booked until 22 December 2021.
