New Hotel Opening

Zurich: Former Steigenberger celebrates reopening as AMERON Hotel

With the AMERON Zurich Bellerive au Lac, the premium lifestyle brand of Althoff Hotels opens its third location in Switzerland these days. The former Steigenberger Hotel in the heart of Zurich has been extensively renovated over the past year and a half and now presents itself in a modern, classically elegant Art Deco style that has characterised the tradition-rich hotel since its opening in 1928.

Guests of the four-star superior hotel can look forward to 61 rooms and suites. The absolute highlight is the 90-square-metre Tower Suite. It extends over two floors and has, among other things, its own sauna and a 20-square-metre roof terrace with a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the lake and the city.

Directly on Lake Zurich – from EUR 225 per night

The “Studio Bellerive” restaurant shares its name with the legendary Zurich film studio that celebrated its birth in 1953 in the former tennis halls of the hotel. Chef Marcus Langer’s team serves refined street food, grilled specialities and creative seasonal dishes of the day. Like the “Bellerive Bar” with its exclusive cigar lounge, the restaurant is only open to hotel guests for the time being.

Thanks to its location directly on the shore of Lake Zurich, the AMERON Zurich Bellerive au Lac is only a few minutes’ walk from Sechseläutenplatz with the Opera House and the famous Bahnhofstrasse. Depending on the season, room rates start at CHF 250 to 380 per night – the equivalent of around EUR 225 to 340. The other two AMERON hotels in Switzerland are in Davos and Lucerne.
