The USA want to extend the entry ban for travelers from Europe, which is initially valid from mid-March to mid-April, by at least 2 weeks. Donald Trump announced this at a press conference in the White House on Monday, 30 March. The measures, which were originally planned for 30 days, would be extended and tightened if necessary, said the US President.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the United States rose from around 100,000 to 160,000 over the past weekend alone and the number of deaths from around 1,500 to 3,000.
