All bookings made through Hyatt Privé count as a booking made through a Hyatt distribution channel. In concrete terms, this means that you receive regular credit for the bookings. So you’ll earn stays and nights towards your World of Hyatt status, as well as points to redeem for free nights. Just note that if you take advantage of the 3 for 2 offer, you may only be credited 2 nights towards your status. However, this is said to vary from hotel to hotel, so you may be lucky and receive the free nights as status nights as well.

What is the catch with Hyatt Privé?

There is only one condition to booking Hyatt Privé benefits: No promotional rates are allowed, so no Sales, but also no Advance Purchase Rates. So, in order to enjoy the mentioned benefits at no extra charge, you have to book the normal flexible rate. This is usually called Standardpreis at Hyatt in the German version or Standard Rate in the English version of the website. If this is available, you can also book the whole thing through Hyatt Privé for the same price. The advantage is that this rate is then also cancelable, usually up to 1 or 2 days before arrival.

How does the booking work?

You can easily book the Hyatt Privé rates via the ASMALLWORLD Collection. There you can search for hotels, cities, countries or regions. Besides Hyatt Privé, various other hotels with exclusive benefits are also offered there. You can view the search results in a list view or map view.

For example, simply enter “Hyatt” or “Andaz” in the search box. Then all hotels will be displayed. The 3 for 2 promotion applies to most, but not all, hotels.

How much can I save with Hyatt Privé?

If you book on relatively short notice, there are usually no significantly cheaper offers than the standard rate anyway. However, during a corresponding sale, other rates can sometimes be a lot lower. But even then, the included benefits at Hyatt Privé often outweigh the savings. We’ll take a look at an example calculation based on the Andaz Vienna.

The Andaz Vienna am Belvedere is popular among our customers because of its modern design and good value, as well as its location near the main train station and Belvedere Palace. As you can see here, on a sample date in January, it can be booked for EUR 148 as part of an offer rate, or for EUR 165 as part of the standard rate, so you’ll pay an extra EUR 17 for the Hyatt Privé benefits:

For the additional EUR 17 paid, you now receive a number of benefits. You can determine the value of these benefits by looking at the Hyatt website to see what you would normally have to pay for the corresponding services.

Let’s start with breakfast. As you can see, this alone normally costs EUR 50 for two persons:

Now you also get a room upgrade by one category. Depending on the hotel’s discretion, this can be a room with a better view, but often they will also give you a larger room. This then corresponds to either a King View Room or a King Deluxe Room, the surcharge to the standard room is EUR 30 or EUR 70 per night:

The hotel credit of USD 75 (equivalent to about EUR 62) also plays a significant role, especially for short stays. So these three things alone will give you another EUR 142 to EUR 182 as a financial advantage on top for an overnight price of EUR 165. And all this thanks to a small surcharge of EUR 17. Then there’s early check-in and late check-out, plus a welcome gift.

However, you should approach the matter with the right preconception: It’s not about the absolute cheapest price here. Rather, this is about the best value for money package. If you want to book at the lowest price, you should do it yourself via the Hyatt website. However, then all the mentioned advantages of Hyatt Privé are omitted and you should not really miss them.

Due to a special promotion, however, the Hyatt Privé rate is actually currently often significantly cheaper than all other rates:

Still for bookings until the 31st of December 2020 with stays until the 31 March 2021 you get with Hyatt Privé in many hotels 3 nights for the price of 2. Thus, the final price despite booking the standard rate is usually still significantly cheaper than any offers or third-party rates.

Note: If you want to stay more than 3 nights and benefit from multiple free nights, you must always enter and book three nights separately in the search. If you book 6 nights in a row, for example, you will still only receive the third night for free – e.g. only one free night. But even if you book 2 x 3, then you will NOT receive 2 x the hotel credit and twice a welcome gift. For that, there would have to be a night between the stays that you don’t spend at the hotel. In addition, there is a very small residual risk that the hotel will only credit you for 1 free night at the end on site. You could bypass this completely if you are travelling as a couple, if the first three nights are booked on one person, and the second three nights are booked on the other person.

Taking the Andaz Vienna am Belvedere as an example, this means that you only pay EUR 310 for three nights, which effectively comes to just EUR 103 per night:

So now you even save EUR 45 per night compared to the regular cheapest offer rate and still get all the benefits mentioned. The bill for three nights then looks like this:

Overnight rate: EUR 310 instead of EUR 444
Breakfast EUR 150
Upgrade EUR 90 to EUR 210
Hotel Credit EUR 62

So the total savings is EUR 436 to EUR 556. To book a stay with the same benefits, you would have paid EUR 746 to EUR 866 at Hyatt, while the ASMALLWORLD Collection rate is just EUR 310.
