It was mainly golfers who loved the Monte da Quinta Resort in Quinta do Lago in the Algarve. Wyndham took over the five-star hotel in October 2020 and is currently having it extensively renovated at a cost of 5 million euros. It is scheduled to reopen this spring in new splendour as the “Wyndham Grand Algarve”.
The all-suite hotel is nestled in the 2,000-hectare Ria Formosa Natural Park and only a few minutes’ walk from the beach. The 132 suites are the largest at Quinta do Lago. With one, two or three bedrooms, they have a spacious living area, kitchen and balcony or terrace overlooking the gardens.
Six famous golf courses in the immediate vicinity
For special culinary experiences, there are three restaurants and two bars – led by the gourmet restaurant “Dourado”, where fresh fish is served to live piano music. A spa, gym, indoor and outdoor pools and a free Kids Club complete the Wyndham Grand Algarve’s facilities.
But the most important argument remains the easy access to the six famous golf courses in Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo, which combine challenging greens with a fascinating coastal landscape in the Algarve. Faro International Airport is just 17 kilometres away. Bookings are available for dates from 15 March 2021. Rates for a Sunset Suite start at EUR 156 per night in May. A Penthouse Suite is available from EUR 398.
