Hotel Grand Opening

The spectacular reopening: Waldorf Astoria New York

The Waldorf Astoria New York is an integral part of New York City. Since 2017, it has been undergoing extensive renovations. In December 2024, the grand reopening of the hotel legend is finally scheduled to take place. Despite any renovations, it is intended to maintain the original Art Deco architecture.

Waldorf Astoria New York: A Landmark of the City

The Waldorf Astoria New York holds a firm place in the history of New York. When the luxury hotel first opened its doors to guests in 1931, it was the tallest and largest hotel in the world. Countless celebrities and world stars such as Marilyn Monroe and former US President Dwight D. Eisenhower regularly stayed in the luxury oasis. The 52-story hotel boasts a prime location on Park Avenue near Grand Central Station and can look forward to spectacular new amenities as part of its renovation, which are not intended to affect the hotel’s venerable charm. Among them are some unique hotel artifacts such as Cole Porter’s Steinway piano.

Between 5-star hotel and luxury residence

Hard to believe but true: Upon its reopening, the luxury hotel will provide both 375 hotel rooms and an equal number of condominiums. Where once 1400 hotel rooms and suites were located, these luxury apartments now expand the offerings in the upper part of the hotel. Thus, the Waldorf Astoria New York will be divided into two: the hotel rooms in the lower and the condominiums in the upper part of the historic building.

The Waldorf Astoria New York with the largest rooms and suites in all of Manhattan

The Waldorf Astoria New York wouldn’t be what it is if it didn’t have more milestones to celebrate upon its reopening. It will boast some of the largest rooms and suites in all of Manhattan. A 2,800 square meter hotel spa, state-of-the-art fitness center, and 3,300 square meters of event space including the Grand Ballroom, Jade Room, and Astor Salon will also enrich the luxury oasis in the future. The culinary establishments will also receive refreshments. The renowned Peacock Alley restaurant is set to reinvent itself and, along with other top-notch dining venues, delight guests with culinary delights.

Reservations not yet available

Reservations are not yet being accepted, so no statement can be made regarding the expected rates. In the past, the price per night was approximately 500 Euros. However, due to the extensive renovation, hotel rates are sure to increase significantly.
