The Retreat at Blue Lagoon: New packages in Iceland’s unique luxury resort

Recently, Germans no longer have to be tested for Corona when entering Iceland – a good reason to visit the island in the far north now. Another good reason would be The Retreat at Blue Lagoon Iceland. A luxury resort like this cannot be found anywhere else in the world – and with the new packages, wellness and culinary delights can be perfectly combined.

There is hardly a visitor to Iceland who is not immersed in the healing, turquoise-blue thermal water of the “Blue Lagoon” – after all, National Geographic’s most popular attraction in 2012 was even recognized as one of the “25 wonders of the world”. Since 2018, The Retreat at Blue Lagoon Iceland has also been a unique luxury resort that has already been included in Time Magazine’s “World’s 100 Greatest Places”.

62 rooms and suites, an underground spa, its own mineral-rich retreat lagoon and two restaurants await guests. The resort has recently launched a whole series of new packages that combine luxurious dinner evenings, exclusive wine tastings, a pampering program in the “Blue Lagoon” or a round of golf in the distinctive Icelandic landscape:

Luxury break. The “Luxury Getaway” package includes three overnight stays including breakfast, two 60-minute in-water massages, a multi-course dinner in the spa restaurant and the “Lava” restaurant as well as a seven-course tasting menu in the “Moss” restaurant. A glass of wine in the spectacular underground wine cellar makes the short trip perfect. Price: from approx. EUR 2,800 for two people (bookable until 31 August 2020).

Short trip with an exclusive dinner. During this luxury break with an overnight stay, guests can immerse themselves in the unique world of the retreat and the “Blue Lagoon” for 24 hours. Includes a round of golf in Grindavík, breakfast and a seven-course meal in the “Moss”. Price: from approx. EUR 1,050 per night for two people (bookable until 31 August 2020).

Gourmet weekend. This gourmet package includes two nights with breakfast, the use of the spa and the lagoons, a four-course dinner in the “Lava” and a seven-course menu in the “Moss”. Price: from approx. EUR 2,020 for two people (bookable until 31 August 2020).

Golfer package. A package for golfers is also available: breakfast, a three-course dinner in the spa restaurant and a seven-course menu in the “Moss” are included for a stay of three nights. The highlight is a round of golf in Grindavík with gifts from the Blue Lagoon Skin Care line for golfers. Price: from approx. EUR 2,560 for two people (bookable until 31 August 2020).

Option for connoisseurs. “Morning Floatation” means an optional additional application for stays of at least two nights. In a separate part of the “Blue Lagoon”, guests can simply drift under the guidance of an expert and let the power of the water take effect. The package also includes champagne and strawberries as a welcome gift – available from 01 October 2020.

Option for wine lovers. This offer includes a free bottle of wine as a welcome gift, a private wine tasting with the sommelier, a seven-course menu in the “Moss” and a three-course dinner in the spa restaurant or in the “Lava” for a stay of at least three nights Two people.
