South Africa: Everything new at the Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge

Since its opening in 2001, the multi-award winning Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge in South Africa has been a pioneering masterpiece. For rarely has it been possible to harmonize nature and architecture so seamlessly. The newly redesigned design of the 13 luxurious suites is based on a contemporary vibrancy: It is played with contrasts, surprising elements, exciting works of art and handcrafted furniture.

The unmistakable light of Africa flows through sliding doors. At night, the lighting can be dimmed depending on the mood and scenery. The floor is covered with a quartz rug that forms a flowing transition from the interior of the suite to the terrace. In the lounge area, thick, soft pillows nestle in the couch next to the large leather chair.

Spectacular is the floating wardrobe: It consists of drawers with removable velvet upholstery, green leather fronts and leather handles. The bathtub was set in a marble block. The newly designed terrace with its wooden fans is a place for all seasons. The oversized sofa seduces to a relaxing siesta. As a favorite place is the hanging leather chair. Over the entire length of the terrace, the private pool with comfortable sun loungers.

The Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve covers 65,000 hectares with a natural border with the Kruger National Park. The four Sabi Sabi lodges are completely different and take you on a journey through time in Africa: while the Selati Camp (8 suites) moves back to the time of the gold diggers in the 19th century, the Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge (13 suites) shows the way in the future. The Bush Lodge (23 suites, two villas) and the Little Bush Camp (6 suites), however, reflect the present with contemporary modernity.
