Sleep with a view of the starry sky: Switzerland launches the “Million Stars Hotels”

Why should the guest be satisfied with five stars when he can also have millions of stars: The new “Million Stars Hotel” project from Switzerland Tourism offers 55 unique accommodation spread across the country, with which the guest can experience authentic nature or pulsating cities exclusively can enjoy – on imposing mountain peaks, on blooming meadows or over the roofs of the city.

A common feature of all accommodations is the unobstructed view of the starry sky from the bed. The majority of the offers were created for the project – and none is like the other. Because in addition to the different types of accommodation, it is above all the spectacular location that distinguishes them. For example, a gondola converted to a “tiny home” attracts visitors to Piz Nair or a cube with a glass front to the Aletsch glacier on the Eggishorn. An observatory converted into a hotel room welcomes guests in St. Moritz.

“Million Stars Hotels” can be found right on the water, for example on Lake Maggiore and high above Lake Lucerne. The “Sealander” is a camping boat that promises a romantic starry night directly on Lake Thun. If you like to sleep directly under the open starry sky, choose an outdoor bed.

Well protected in the “Bubble” it sleeps in picturesque places in Thurgau and Ticino as well as on the roof terrace of the city hotel Widder in Zurich – or also in the tree tent, where you are a little closer to the stars. The prices for the “Million Stars Hotels” are between 80 and 800 Swiss francs per night for two people including breakfast. Depending on the location, they can be booked until the end of October 2020. The campaign will continue in 2021.
