Opening in one year: Berlin will get the first JW Marriott Hotel in Germany

Marriott International will open the first JW Marriott hotel in Germany in 2022 in the center of Berlin. The property is the current Maritim Hotel Berlin on Stauffenbergstrasse, considered one of the capital’s largest conference hotels. A management contract has just been signed with the property’s owner – Qatar’s Al Rayyan Tourism Investment Company (ARTIC).

The property, with its 505 rooms and suites, will initially be managed as “Hotel Berlin Central District” and will then be integrated into the Marriott portfolio as “JW Marriott Berlin” in 2022. At the same time, a gradual, four-year renovation is planned. This will involve a complete redesign of the exterior and entrance areas, the guest rooms and suites, the public areas and the 5,500-square-meter conference area.

The future JW Marriott Berlin is located directly across from the Tiergarten park and is just minutes from famous landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate and Potsdamer Platz. The location is also ideal for business travelers: many international companies and embassies can be found in the immediate vicinity. Berlin’s main train station can be reached in ten minutes and Berlin Brandenburg Airport in 35 minutes by car.
