One&Only Portonovi: pure luxury in the most beautiful bay of Montenegro

Actually, the opening of the first One&Only in Europe should have taken place in July 2020. With a delay of almost a year, the time had actually come: Since 1 May 2021, the new One&Only Portonovi has been welcoming its guests in the picturesque Bay of Kotor in Montenegro – only about an hour from Dubrovnik or 50 minutes from Tivat Airport.

The architecture of the resort reflects the style of old Venetian palaces with porticoes, terracotta roofs and spacious gardens. In addition to 113 rooms, suites and villas, the One&Only Portonovi offers no less than eleven pools, a manicured private beach and a 4,000-square-meter “Chenot Espace Wellness Centre” with sauna, hammam, steam bath and indoor pool.

All accommodation features terraces, floor-to-ceiling windows, open fireplaces for cooler evenings and bedroom-sized bathrooms. “Suite One” also has a private wine cellar that guests can stock with a personal selection of 268 bottles. Villa One and Villa Two are surrounded by private gardens with their own pools and sunset views.

Southern Italian and Asian cuisine

In the “Sabia” restaurant, star chef Giorgio Locatelli serves southern Italian specialities. The “Tapasake Club” presents itself as a relaxed pool club that treats guests to modern, pan-Asian fusion cuisine in tapas style and a sake bar. “La Veranda” celebrates Montenegrin cuisine, while the “Caminetti Bar” in the lobby offers a sweeping view of the garden and the sea.

Leisure activities at One&Only Portonovi range from tennis, a fitness centre with personal training sessions and yoga classes overlooking the sea, to scuba diving, sailing courses and yacht excursions along the coast of Montenegro. The Best Available Rate for the cheapest room – the 55 square metre “Portonovi Room” – is EUR 1,525 per night in June, July and August, EUR 835 in September and EUR 495 in October.
