Nobu Palo Alto: All new at one of Silicon Valley’s best boutique hotels

The Nobu Palo Alto was already considered one of the best addresses in California’s Silicon Valley. After a renovation costing several million US dollars, the boutique hotel with its 73 rooms and suites in downtown Palo Alto is now even more elegant and luxurious than before – only 60 kilometres from San Francisco.

The new highlight is an exclusive “ryokan level” on the seventh and eighth floors, where a modern Japanese design combines with the lifestyle of the American West Coast. White oak panelling, teak accents and marble characterise the suites, which have been fitted with bespoke furniture and handmade Japanese bedside lanterns. Guests also enjoy 24-hour butler service and priority seating at Nobu Restaurant.

Also new are a gym with Peloton bikes, a sushi bar, a lobby bar, a round-the-clock in-room dining menu and al fresco dining options at Nobu Restaurant. In addition, three new meeting rooms with 90-inch televisions have been created on the eighth floor, opening onto a teak-roofed, heated terrace through floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors.

Nobu Hotels was founded in 1994 by Oscar winner Robert De Niro, Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa and entrepreneur Meir Teper and currently comprises 13 luxury hotels around the globe. What they all have in common is a Japanese-inspired design and a Nobu restaurant serving all the specialities that have made Nobu Matsuhisa world-famous.
