New owner for the legendary Baglioni Hotel Luna in Venice

The legendary Baglioni Hotel Luna in Venice has new owners: the British real estate investors Reuben Brothers – David and Simon Reuben – have acquired the five-star hotel from Baglioni Hotels & Resort for around 100 million euros and now own the second boutique hotel in the lagoon city after Il Palazzo Experimental on the Giudecca Canal

The Baglioni Hotel Luna is a member of the “Leading Hotels of the World” and only a stone’s throw away from St. Mark’s Square. The palazzo dates back to 1118 and has served as a monastery, a noble palace and the quarters of the Knights Templar. Even today, it still boasts details from its history – such as the ornate stucco walls, Murano glass chandeliers and gold fittings. The “Salone Marco Polo” is even adorned with ceiling frescoes attributed to the 18th century school of Tiepolo.

The 93 rooms and suites are decorated in a lavish Venetian style. The balconies of the top suites offer a spectacular panoramic view over the roofs of Venice. In addition, the “Canova Restaurant” is considered one of the best Venetian hotel restaurants. In March, prices range from EUR 320 per night for the most basic room to EUR 5,800 for a suite with a terrace.

The purchase of Baglioni Hotel Luna and the leaseback by Reuben Brothers are part of a new strategic partnership to accelerate the global expansion of the Baglioni brand. Founded in 1974, Baglioni Hotels & Resorts are currently present in Rome, Venice, Florence and Tuscany, as well as in London and the Maldives.
