Mount Juliet Estate Kilkenny: New jewel in the “Autograph Collection” in Ireland

The “Autograph Collection” from Marriott has added another exquisite house to its European portfolio: Mount Juliet Estate Kilkenny is located around two hours south-west of Dublin in the heart of Ireland and is one of the most modern equestrian centers in Ireland, especially for its world-class golf course and the Michelin star restaurant.

The mansion was built in 1752 by Earl of Carrick and Juliet Boyle on both sides of the Nore River and connected by a stone bridge. Today 32 rooms and suites are housed here. In the exquisite restaurant “Lady Helen”, which was awarded a Michelin star, chef John Kelly works with high-quality seasonal ingredients, some of which come from the property’s vegetable garden. The “Major’s Bar” attracts with a cozy fireplace and the in-house “Moongate Gin”.

The 93-room Hunters Yard Hotel is just a short walk from the manor house. Here, the contemporary interior design reflects the character of the original stable buildings. Rooms for meetings, weddings and other celebrations, the casual restaurant “The Hound” and the “Saddle Bar” with a varied cocktail menu complete the facilities.

The property’s golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, with its newly renovated clubhouse, will host the Irish Open for the fourth time in 2020. In addition, Mount Juliet Estate Kilkenny is home to one of the most modern equestrian centers in Ireland with numerous bridle paths on the 500 hectare estate. Under the guidance of experts, guests can also go falconry and fishing. The hotel also has a health club with pool, gym and spa.
