In 2020, Marriott International plans to open more than 30 new luxury hotels under the Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, W Hotels, The Luxury Collection, Edition and JW Marriott brands around the world. The company’s luxury portfolio currently includes 420 hotels and resorts in almost 65 countries. In addition, no fewer than 185 projects are in the development pipeline for the coming years.
The Ritz-Carlton recently celebrated the opening of the 100th house with The Ritz-Carlton, Perth in Western Australia. In 2020, the Marriott brand is planning new luxury hotels in Rabat (Morocco), Nikko (Japan), Mexico City, Scottsdale (USA) and Nanjing (China). The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach in Miami will complete an extensive renovation. In addition, intensive work is underway on the launch of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, which is scheduled for June 2020.
With a spectacular grand opening on the Grand Canal in Venice, St. Regis further expanded its presence in Europe this autumn. The Marriott brand currently includes 45 luxury hotels in more than 20 countries. In 2020, St. Regis will open new homes in Cairo (Egypt) and on the Riviera Maya (Mexico). The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm is also to receive guests for the first time in 2020.
The lifestyle brand W Hotels brought its unusual concept to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Ibiza and Aspen this year. New hotels will be launched in 2020 in Milan, Rome, Nashville, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chengdu and Melbourne. The portfolio of The Luxury Collection with currently 114 hotels in more than 30 countries will be expanded in 2020 with houses in Nashville (USA), Budapest (Hungary) and Hobart (Australia).
JW Marriott has just received the first guests at the JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa. In 2020, luxury hotels will start in Savannah, Orlando and Anaheim (USA), Istanbul (Turkey), Danang (Vietnam), Nara (Japan), Muscat (Oman) and Monterrey (Mexico). The brand plans to grow to a total of 115 houses by 2022. The still young lifestyle brand Edition is also developing rapidly and will open new hotels in Tokyo, Dubai, Rome and Reykjavik in 2020.
