Luxury resort Vakkaru Maldives presents its newly designed villas

Despite the Vakkaru Maldives opening only in late 2017, the luxury resort in the Maldives’ Baa Atoll has just completely redesigned its villas. Whilst reducing the number of villas, all now offer their own pool, hot tub, or private lagoon access. After its reopening in December, the property has attracted a celebrity following with Madonna and her family being some of the first to spend the New Year in the resorts’ 917-square-metre “The Residence” with four bedrooms.

The Vakkaru Maldives has a total of 113 villas on the beach and over water measuring 114 square meters at a minimum. The former beach bungalows are now “Beach Spa Pool Villas” with a large open-air whirlpool. The 24 Beach Villas became twelve “Two Bedroom Beach Pool Villas” with a private pool and a beach terrace – and over water villas are the “Over Water Family Pool Villas” with 24 square meter infinity pools.

In addition to white beaches and a lively house reef with three “blue holes”, the Vakkaru Maldives has over 2,300 coconut palm trees, which also give the island paradise its name – “Vakkaru” means coconut wood. The “Merana Spa” over the water, tennis and badminton courts, five restaurants, two bars, a wine cellar and a kids club complete the offer. The “Joyous 2020 arrangement” attracts up to 35 percent discount on the best possible rate from a booking of three nights. Breakfast and dinner are included.
