Hotel Reopening

Luxury in Hawaii: Mauna Lani celebrates its reopening

After a comprehensive modernization and redesign that lasted 18 months and cost around EUR 90 million, the Mauna Lani of the “Auberge Collection” on the Kona coast of Hawaii’s Big Island is now welcoming its guests in new splendor. The luxury resort is located in a tropical garden – between the black lava fields of the 4,205 meter high Mauna Kea and the sea.

In addition to 300 rooms and suites that have been designed in a restrained design, the Mauna Lani has three pools and a large bay protected by rocks with a white sandy beach lined with palm trees. Hawaiian healing rituals, meditations and yoga classes are offered at the spa. The five restaurants and bars range from a relaxed surf stall on the beach to an elegant cocktail terrace.

Water sports enthusiasts will find the best conditions on the 4.5 km long stretch of coast of the Mauna Lani, which are so typical for the islands of Hawaii. Stand-up paddleboards, traditional outrigger boats and canoes are available on the beach, while surfers can let off steam in the wind and waves. Swimming with manta rays is also possible. On land, hikes, bike tours, ziplining, several golf courses and exploring the five volcanoes on the island are attractive.
