Lufthansa is considering a new “Premium Business Class”

The Lufthansa Group is apparently thinking about a “Premium Business Class” in the new Boeing 777X. At least that’s what the airline portal aeroTELEGRAPH reports. It could be placed at the very front in the new Business Class and should offer passengers more comfort and a lot of privacy, because there will be no First Class in the Boeing 777X. A decision should not have been made yet.

According to aeroTELEGRAPH, Lufthansa is considering introducing special seats that differ significantly from “normal” Business Class and could offer a kind of “suite”. The so-called “throne” could serve as a model – a single seat in the middle row of the redesigned Business Class in the 777X with a lot of space. Better service is also being considered.

In addition, the Lufthansa Group is also planning rows of seats with greater legroom in Economy Class – a kind of “Economy Plus” that many airlines already have. The group expects the first Boeing 777X at the beginning of 2021. The “Premium Business Class” and the “Economy Plus” could also be installed in the 20 Boeing 787s ordered, for which it is currently not known whether they are from Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines or Swiss are used.
