Kimpton Aluna Hotel: Lifestyle and Luxury on the Riviera Maya in Tulum

The rapidly expanding IHG brand Kimpton is now also represented with a lifestyle luxury hotel in Mexico: After a rebranding, The Aluna Hotel in Tulum, which opened in 2018, has been welcoming its guests as the “Kimpton Aluna Hotel” for a few weeks now. The hideaway is located on the edge of an almost 1,000-hectare biosphere reserve – well hidden among lush greenery, yet not far from the bustling city centre of Tulum.

The 72 rooms and six suites all have private terraces. Two outdoor pools, a swim-up bar, a restaurant, a rooftop bar with magnificent views, a spa, a fitness centre and an open-air yoga studio complete the facilities. Guests can reach the external beach club with the hotel’s vintage cars or complimentary beach cruisers.

Tulum is located in the south of the Riviera Maya – about an hour from Cancun and Playa del Carmen. The Mayan ruins of Tulum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, breathtaking cenotes, white sandy beaches and a fascinating coral reef have made this green region a popular tourist destination, as have the excellent food and diverse shopping opportunities.
