Jumeirah Sirius becomes Jumeirah One: new top status, no upgrades and lounge access

The Jumeirah hotel chain’s loyalty program was previously called Jumeirah Sirius. Now, however, there will be a rebranding and the program will be renamed Jumeirah One. This should happen on 21 July 2020. In the course of this, some changes are made to the program.

An overview of some facts:

  • If you currently have a Jumeirah Sirius account, it will automatically be switched to Jumeirah One. The membership number remains the same.
  • Jumeirah Sirius points are transferred 1: 1 to Jumeirah One points.
  • If you have already made a booking for a stay after 21 July, it will remain unchanged.
  • All membership levels will be valid for one year in the future.
  • Jumeirah One will mainly be a digital program, welcome packs with membership cards are only available for Platinum members.

However, the status levels change. In future, you can achieve silver status for 5,000 instead of 10,000 status points, and gold status for 30,000 instead of 40,000 status points. Platinum status with 90,000 status points is added.

We asked Jumeirah for clarification regarding the transfer of existing Jumeirah Sirius status levels to the new program and were informed that Jumeirah Sirius Silver Members would become Jumeirah One Silver Members and Jumeirah Sirius Gold Members would become Jumeirah One Gold Members. Thus, for existing Jumeirah Sirius Gold Status holders, there will unfortunately be no automatic upgrades to the new highest Platinum level.

As before, you will earn 2 Jumeirah One points and 2 status points for every USD 1 spent. On Jumeirah One points you also receive a status bonus of 25 (silver), 50 (gold) and 100 percent (platinum).

Conclusion

Unfortunately, the rebranding of Jumeirah Sirius has a primarily negative impact on the advantages of the various status levels. Upgrades have been completely abolished, because “Preferred room selection” only means that you can choose the preferred room number within the booked category. There is also no longer lounge access. For this, some benefits have been added that represent a real added value for the fewest guests. It remains to be seen whether improvements will be made here.
