Hotel Reopening

Istanbul: Six Senses opens luxury hotel on the Bosphorus

Six Senses has arrived in Istanbul: right on the banks of the Bosphorus – but away from the hustle and bustle of the Turkish metropolis – the Six Senses Kocatas Mansions is opening its doors for the first time. The new luxury hotel unites two Ottoman mansions situated on the European side of the city in the quiet Sariyer district – right where the Bosphorus makes its final turn before flowing into the Black Sea.

The interiors of the 45 rooms and suites, spread over the three floors of the two buildings, combine the traditional architecture of the Bosphorus with the contemporary Six Senses touch. Many historical artifacts are modeled on the former Kocatas villas from the 19th century – the originals were unfortunately destroyed years ago by a fire.

The elegant décor of the “Toro Latin GastroBar” was designed by restaurateur Richard Sandoval. It serves Latin American and Asian dishes. The cocktails shakes and stirs the Turkish barman. The all-day “Kahve Café” presents itself in the ambience of a golden bohemian-style hall overlooking the Bosphorus. Several lounges and a modern gym complement the facilities.

The new Six Senses also includes the Sait Halim Pasha Mansion – the best address in Istanbul for weddings and events. The Guest Experience Maker plans individual excursions and tours according to the wishes of the guests. For sightseeing on the Bosphorus and transfers to the historic center of the city, a boat is available. Istanbul’s new airport can be reached in just 40 minutes with the hotel’s private shuttle service.
