Hotel La Palma: A new era begins for a 200-year-old jewel on Capri

The iconic Hotel La Palma on Capri will expand the luxury portfolio of the Oetker Collection from 2022. After a comprehensive redesign by the new owners – the real estate investors Reuben Brothers from London – the jewel built in 1822 very close to Capri’s famous Piazzetta is to celebrate its reopening as one of the best hotels in the world in time for its 200th birthday in April 2022.

Currently only a four-star hotel, the number of rooms is to be reduced from 80 to 50 in the course of the renovation – including 18 suites. All will have a balcony or terrace. Renowned architects could be won for the interior design: Francesco Delogu from Rome will design the rooms and the lobby, while Adam Tihany and Alessia Genove from New York are responsible for the pool, restaurant, spa and beach club.

Own beach club and two Michelin stars in the restaurant

The gastronomic management of “Gennaro’s Restaurant” including bar and terrace will be taken over by Gennaro Esposito, who has earned two Michelin stars in his restaurant “Torre del Saracino”. The rooftop restaurant “Bianca” and the rooftop bar, open until late at night, offer a breathtaking view. Then, right next door, the legendary nightclub “La Taverna Anema e Core” awaits – a popular meeting place for celebrities on Capri, which also belongs to the Hotel La Palma.

The hotel’s own “La Palma Beach Club” on the south coast – amidst the island’s most popular beaches and restaurants – is only a short drive away. Gennaro Esposito’s casual cuisine is available here for an extended lunch. Completing the hotel’s offerings are a spa with sauna, steam room, ice shower and fitness area, three exclusive boutiques and a new pool deck designed to pay homage to Capri’s golden 1920s.
