FCC Angkor by Avani: Reopening with new suites in Siem Reap

The FCC Angkor by Avani in Siem Reap, Cambodia, has reopened its doors after extensive renovations. Guests can look forward to new suites in a second wing of the hotel, a new Khmer-inspired “Visaya Spa” and a second saltwater pool. The design of the harmonious hideaway – a modern interpretation of French colonial architecture – remained unchanged.

The new suites are divided into three categories: The “Family Suite” has a terrace in the shade of an old banyan tree, which is divided into a dining area, a cosy sun corner and a spa corner with a bathtub. The “Garden Suite” offers a covered terrace on the ground floor with a view of lush tropical greenery, while the terrace of the 150-square-metre “Riverview Suite” on the top floor of the new wing offers a wonderful view of the river.

All rooms are decorated with vintage typewriters, framed covers of regional newspapers, old clocks, dial phones, Khmer carvings, traditional tiles and clay pots. The new “Visaya Spa” offers both Western and Asian massages and beauty treatments based on blends of seasonal herbs, plant leaves, mango, coconut, aloe vera and raw honey.

The FCC Angkor by Avani is located in the former French colonial quarter of Siem Reap, right in the centre of town. The flexible rates (with cancellation up to the day before arrival) currently start at EUR 81 per night with breakfast for a Deluxe Room (plus 20 percent taxes and fees). The new suites also offer a lot of comfort for relatively little money, with prices starting at EUR 195 (Garden Suite), EUR 260 (Family Suite) and EUR 300 (Riverview Suite).
