Hilton has opened a new hotel in Dubai: The DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai M Square is already the brand’s fourth property in the city, but the first with five stars. Thanks to its location between historic and modern Dubai – right next to the Burjuman shopping centre – it offers an impressive view of the metropolis’ “Big Five” from the rooftop lounge: Burj Khalifa, Dubai Frame, Museum of The Future, Ain Dubai, and Burj Al Arab.
The hotel’s 23 floors feature 327 rooms and suites as well as 131 serviced residences, all designed in a contemporary industrial chic style. A highlight is undoubtedly the “SunGlo Rooftop Lounge” with pool and 360-degree view over the city. An Italian and an Indian restaurant, three pools, a spa, a fitness centre and an executive lounge complete the facilities.
The standout feature of the DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai M Square, however, is a spectacular mural in the lobby that pays tribute to the first president of the United Arab Emirates – Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who died in 2004. The installation of the artwork alone, which is more than 15 metres long, is said to have taken three weeks before the 29,000 reflective panes were attached to a specially developed support structure.
