New Hotel Opening

Crown Sydney: New luxury hotel in the city’s tallest skyscraper

Sydney has a new luxury hotel that sets new standards in every respect: After four years of construction, the Crown Sydney has opened its doors in the tallest building of the Australian metropolis. The two Crown Towers rise 275 metres above the Barangaroo district at the southern end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, thus also changing the city’s skyline like no other building in recent decades.

There are 349 rooms and suites on the 75 floors of the skyscraper, which offer a perfectly framed view of Sydney through their floor-to-ceiling windows and feature, for example, care products from the Australian high-end organic brand Grown Alchemist. The 695-square-metre top suite with a 125-square-metre terrace extends over two levels and is the highest habitable room in a Sydney hotel.

These are joined by 14 top-class restaurants and bars – led by a gourmet temple of the renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa. Culinary delights are also promised by the Australian “Woodcut”, the Italian “A’Mare”, the Cantonese “Silks”, the Japanese “Yoshii’s Omakase” and the “88 Noodle” in the style of the noodle houses of Shanghai.

One of the unique spots is the “Teahouse” – a lounge bar in the style of a traditional Chinese teahouse, where guests can sit in oversized, richly decorated birdcages while enjoying bespoke cocktails, champagne, tea specialities and oriental bites inspired by Japanese and Cantonese cuisine.

The “Crown Spa Sydney” extends over 2,000 square metres and includes terraces for yoga and meditation, relaxation rooms, vitality pools, experience showers and infrared saunas. Two outdoor pools, a fitness centre and premium boutiques round off the facilities. A casino was also planned, but the licence from the Australian authorities is still missing. However, Crown Hotels already operates two resorts with casinos in Melbourne and Perth.
