Birthday of an icon: Kempinski celebrates the “Lady in Red”

For ten years now, the “Lady in Red” has been a unique brand ambassador in all Kempinski hotels around the world. It goes without saying that this anniversary will be duly celebrated this year. Various birthday activities around the famous “Lady of the House”, which are planned from 17 to 26 January 2020, will kick off.

In her tailor-made red outfit, which reflects the fashionable traditions of the respective destination, the “Lady in Red” stands out in each of the 79 Kempinski Hotels worldwide. She should stand by the guest as a trustworthy contact person and show herself as the perfect host. She is an absolute team player who works closely with the front office, the F&B department and the concierge to make the impossible possible.

“The Lady in Red is a local expert who has immense knowledge of the respective hotel and the respective destination,” explains Benedikt Jaschke, Chief Quality Officer of Kempinski Hotels: “Whether it is a special anniversary celebration, a surprise idea or an extraordinary family vacation – with her passion for the hotel industry and the local culture, she ensures that the guest experiences unforgettable moments. ”

The “Lady in Red” was created to make the somewhat dusty position of guest relations more contemporary. In the meantime, more than 150 women work at Kempinski Hotels all over the world, bringing a wide variety of backgrounds to their positions. Even some “gentlemen in red”, who can be recognized by the red tie and red socks, are now there – for example in the Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin.

“A Lady in Red is indeed not a gray mouse,” emphasizes Petra Portilla, Lady in Red at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski in Munich: “We are attentive and curious, at the same time discreet and cultivated, well-behaved, polite and have high quality standards , We all share the Kempinski view that luxury has to be very special and tangible. Therefore, we are always ready to snap up little clues that tell us how we can add a certain touch of magic to a guest’s stay. ”
