Banyan Tree Krabi: New luxury resort on the west coast of Thailand

The new Banyan Tree Krabi recently welcomed its first guests to the picturesque Tubkaek Beach on the southern west coast of Thailand. The Banyan Tree Group’s newest five-star resort features 72 suites and villas, all with private pools, nestled on a verdant hillside with spectacular views of the Andaman Sea and Krabi’s limestone cliffs rising out of the sea.

Accommodations are spread across three beachfront pool villas, as well as ten pool villas and 59 pool suites overlooking the sea and sunset. The Presidential Beachfront Pool Villa can be combined with the two adjacent Beachfront Pool Villas to create 1,335 square meters of luxury with a total of seven bedrooms. But even the classic Deluxe Pool Suite is anything but modest at 99 square meters.

Thailand’s cuisine at its best

The signature restaurant “Saffron” and the adjoining “Sunset Wedding Deck” are accessible by an electric funicular that seats eight and travels up and down the hillside throughout the evening. Creative international cuisine awaits at any time of day in the main restaurant, “The Naga Kitchen.”

A dinner in the “Bird’s Nests” belonging to the “Saffron” remains unforgettable: Three tables are spread like bird’s nests between trees and offer a wide view of the sea with the jungle scenery in the background. In addition, room service allows for a floating breakfast in your own pool, a floating tapas set at sunset, or even a poolside barbecue prepared by the chef.

Wellness with “Thainess”

At the Spa at Banyan Tree Krabi, “Thainess” is cultivated with local treatments and ingredients like coconut potions and pearl powder massages. Surrounded by tropical gardens, “The Rainforest” provides gentle relaxation as Krabi’s first hydrotherapy spa using the healing properties of water. The view of nature through large glass fronts helps to unwind.

While parents relax in the spa, children frolic in the Kids’ Club, which is surrounded by a water park with a slide and shallow salt-water pools. The play area also includes a rope bridge, a cave, and a climbing wall. Upon check-in, guests receive a smartphone that allows them to contact their Banyan Tree host at the touch of a button. Personalized service ranges from in-suite or villa dining to sightseeing arrangements and room service.
