Abu Dhabi: History and Glamping Adventure in the Jebel Hafit Desert

Abu Dhabi has opened a new tourist attraction on the impressive mountain range of Jebel Hafit: Before the highest elevation of the Emirate, visitors to the new Jebel Hafit Desert Park can discover fascinating archaeological remains from the Neolithic Age and during outdoor activities and glamping in the desert of Abu Dhabi experience exciting adventures.

As part of the oasis city of Al Ain, the area has been part of the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in the United Arab Emirates since 2011. The archaeological sites reflect many of the major changes that have occurred across the country in the past 8,000 years. The park’s main attractions include a number of Bronze Age tombs, some of which have been restored.

The Jebel Hafit Desert Park can be explored in different ways – with bicycles and hiking trails, but also with horse and camel rides. Guided buggy tours are also possible. But the absolute highlight is an overnight stay in the park: traditional Bedouin tents and luxurious, air-conditioned bubble tents are available for the glamping adventure in the desert of Abu Dhabi.

Endless peace and a spectacular view of the desert landscape are guaranteed. The Jebel Hafit Desert Park is 20 kilometers south of Al Ain and can be reached from Abu Dhabi City in two hours by car. Bookings for accommodation and activities can be made at jebelhafitdesertpark.backhotelite.com/en/.
