Hotel Opening

A small village as a luxury hotel: New refuge in the heart of Istria

In the heart of Istria, a new luxury hotel has opened that cannot be found anywhere else on the entire Croatian Adriatic peninsula: For the San Canzian Village & Hotel, a small romantic village was saved from decay and turned into a unique retreat with only 25 Transformed rooms and suites. Traditional architecture meets design and five-star comfort – lined with olive trees and vineyards.

Carefully selected fabrics, pieces of furniture, wallpapers and works of art characterize the ambience of the property, whose year-round heated pool and bar provides a wide view of the unobstructed landscape. If you value individuality, you can also book a small villa with a fireplace and private pool.

A Croatian shooting star is responsible for the cuisine of the gourmet restaurant: Mario Mandaric gained international experience as sous-chef of the London three-star restaurant “Fat Duck” alongside Heston Blumenthal. In the San Canzian Village & Hotel, he presents two culinary lines with top Istrian products – creative gourmet dishes and a casual bistro cuisine.

Around 600 different top wines from France, Italy and Croatia lay in the walk-in wine safe. A special attraction is the cocktail bar, which serves exceptional drinks made from the finest spirits and homemade syrups and liqueurs. The San Canzian Village & Hotel is just under four kilometers from Buje and about five kilometers from the artist village Grožnjan. The room prices in the youngest luxury hotel in Istria start at EUR 211 per night.
