The gradual relaunch of Dubai Parks and Resorts is entering the next phase: After the Hollywood theme park “Motiongate”, the globally unique “Bollywood Parks” will also be open once again for fans of the Indian film scene from 21 January 2021 – and visitors can look forward to several new attractions at once. Another world record for Dubai can also be marvelled at.
So far, the focus of the “Bollywood Parks Dubai” has been on fascinating 3D simulators that brought the film action from Mumbai to life. Now there are nine new rides for the whole family. The highlight is the 140-metre high “Bollywood Skyflyer” – the highest chairoplane in the world. Free-swinging double seats, which move up and down, rotate around a huge tower and provide a fantastic view of the park and the surrounding area.
Family roller coaster in the style of Mumbai’s taxis
Less spectacular, but suitable for families, are eight more new attractions in the middle of Bollywood Park, all inspired by Indian culture and architecture. Coaster fans can climb Taxi No.1 – an 88-metre long family roller coaster in the style of Mumbai’s famous yellow and black taxis. Hearty screams are also promised by a round of “Rodeo Ki Sawari” with a triple twist that simulates traditional Indian rodeo experiences.
Festively illuminated, the 55-metre high big wheel “Wheel of Stars” makes its rounds. “Hawa Hawai” gives the impression of flying on a kite, a ride on the “Mansoon Masti” becomes a whirling monsoon adventure and “Tanga No. 13” takes visitors on a magical journey around the “Gateway of India” in Mumbai in its ornate horse-drawn carriages.
Street food, souvenirs and a brilliant dance show
The gastronomic offer has also been expanded to include an authentic Indian restaurant and street food experiences throughout the park. The new “Bollywood Souq Bazaar” sells souvenirs from India and at the end of the day, visitors can enjoy a romantic Bollywood experience when the staircase in front of Rajmahal Palace is transformed into a stage for a brilliant dance show at dusk.
In addition, further innovations are planned for 2021 at “Bollywood Parks Dubai” – including the first roller coaster made of wood in the Arab region, which will bring Dubai another world record. The theme park is open from 12pm to 9pm from Saturday to Thursday and from 12pm to 10pm on Friday. A day ticket costs AED 220 (approx. EUR 49) when booked online or AED 275 (approx. EUR 61) on site.
