New Hotel Opening

The Goodtime Hotel: Pharrell Williams opens lifestyle hotel in Miami

Pharrell Williams became world famous with his mega-hit “Happy”. Now the American musician has opened his first lifestyle hotel in Miami together with entrepreneur David Grutman. The goal is clearly defined: With a newly interpreted Art Deco aesthetic and more than 10,000 square metres of public space, The Goodtime Hotel in South Beach is to become the new meeting place for the stars in the metropolis.

The opening party with such famous names as Victoria and David Beckham, Sean Penn, Cuba Gooding Jr, Chris Rock, Timbaland and Kim Kardashian already gave a first taste of how “happy” the more or less prominent guests will be celebrating in the Goodtime Hotel in future. The approximately 3,000 square metre pool club, reminiscent of the holiday resorts in Havana and Acapulco from the middle of the 20th century, certainly seems ideally suited for this.

The pink telephone with the dial

The 266 rooms and suites overlooking the Atlantic Ocean to the east or Biscayne Bay to the west play only a secondary role. Nevertheless, their design is unique – from the custom-made beds to the curtains, the benches with a leopard pattern and the care products by Ortigia to the pink wall telephone with a classic dial, which many younger guests probably only know from the museum.

Grutman’s Strawberry Moon restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes and cocktails for lunch and dinner indoors or poolside. More than 4,500 square feet of ground-floor retail, a gym and a peach-coloured library round out the Goodtime Hotel’s amenities. Best Flexible Rates start at USD 261 per night – including resort fee, taxes and charges.
