Thai Airways and Thailand Update: All European flights stopped, borders closed, transit still possible for the time being

There have been many rumors about Thai Airways and Thailand in the past few days. Now it seems to have been clarified what applies and what does not:

  • Thai Airways will gradually discontinue all European routes and, moreover, most routes worldwide over the coming days
  • Until 31 March, a transit without entry at Bangkok Airport is possible even without a negative COVID-19 test, the associated laboratory report, and health insurance up to USD 100,000. This should enable trips home to third countries. Nevertheless, a “Fit to Fly” certificate must be presented, which most doctors can issue.
  • Entry into Thailand is suspended until at least 30 April (with the exception of Thai citizens, airline crew, diplomats and some other groups of people).
