Patina Maldives, Fari Islands: A unique luxury resort in the Maldives

With Patina Maldives, Fari Islands, a new luxury resort will open in the North Malé Atoll on 18 May 2021, the likes of which the Maldives have never seen before: The celebrated Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan, founder of the MK27 studio, has created a spectacular hideaway here that sets completely new standards in architecture and design.

“Patina is unique in the Maldives – an opportunity to be together in isolation. One of the most remote places on earth and still a place where people can meet. In doing so, Patina Maldives embraces our natural conflicts: the desire for peace and party, for nature and design, technology and rusticity, indulgence and deep reflection,” Kogan explains his concept.

90 pool villas on the beach and above the water

Guests can look forward to 90 pool villas on the beach and above the water as well as 20 studios. The menus of the twelve restaurants and food outlets range from Asian to Greek to international dishes and from vegan slow food restaurants to cool burger trucks. A spa, a yoga pavilion, a water sports centre and tennis courts round off the facilities.

Beach Club as the common heart of the archipelago

The previously untouched Fari Islands are being developed by Pontiac Land from Singapore and will be home to two other luxury resorts in addition to Patina Maldives. Already in June, The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands will open here, followed by Capella Maldives towards the end of the year. The “Fari Marina Village” and the “Fari Beach Club”, which will also be launched on 18 May, will form the common “heart” of the archipelago.

Patina Maldives is the first location of the new brand “Patina Hotels & Resorts”, which was founded in 2020 by the Capella Hotel Group. With the current opening offer, rates start at EUR 1,138 per night in a Beach Pool Villa and EUR 1,248 in an Overwater Pool Villa – plus 24 percent taxes and fees, but including half board and transfers. The luxury resort can be reached from Malé International Airport in 45 minutes by speedboat.
