Only two Corona cases on the island: Barbados is ready for the winter season

Barbados has bravely fought its way through the corona epidemic and with only two cases of corona the island is currently in a much better position than almost all neighboring countries. Therefore, the small Caribbean island has high hopes for the soon return of tourists – especially from Europe. In any case, the flight connections in the coming winter season are better than they have been for a long time.

Lufthansa recently announced that it will be operating a Eurowings direct flight twice a week between Frankfurt and Barbados from the 29th of October 2020. Every Thursday and Saturday, the flight will leave for Bridgetown at 10.20 a.m. – ideal for enjoying time on the beach on the day of arrival. From the 25th of October 2020, British Airways will even be flying daily at 2.30 pm from London Heathrow to the Caribbean island.

The current entry regulations are not an insurmountable obstacle: At the earliest 72 hours, but at the latest 24 hours before entry, a form must be filled out on travelform.gov.bb and the negative result of a PCR test uploaded. A copy of the test result must be presented upon entry into Barbados. Those who cannot do so must have a PCR test performed at the airport in Bridgetown and be quarantined until the result is available.

Assigned accommodations are available free of charge – or you can choose a hotel yourself and pay for it. Tourists from “medium risk” countries are contacted irregularly by the health authorities within 14 days of entry and asked about the occurrence of symptoms. However, these checks are not necessary if the Barbados guest voluntarily undergoes a corona test again within five to seven days after entry and receives a negative test result.
