One&Only opens new beach resort in Malaysia

One&Only luxury chain opens its first beach resort in Asia on the southeast coast of Malaysia: the new One&Only Desaru Coast will welcome its first guests on 23 March 2020, surrounded by lush rainforests and a secluded white-sand coastline , The resort is within two hours drive from Singapore or via the airport in Johor.

With views of the sea or the rainforest, there are 42 junior suites and two grand two-bedroom suites. All accommodations feature private pools, spacious indoor and outdoor living spaces, luxurious bathrooms, a Malaysian inspired design and plenty of privacy. Away from the main house is the exclusive “Villa One” with four bedrooms, a private spa and a garden with a 27 meter long pool. In addition, 50 private homes are offered for sale or for rent.

The restaurant “Ambara” serves Mediterranean dishes with local produce and ingredients from the resort’s “Chef’s Garden”, while the “Hoshi” features a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Japanese tempura. The diverse flavors of Malaysia are captured in the “Essential” – right next to the 50-meter infinity pool.

The Dusky Monkey open-air bar offers a selection of creative treats, with cocktails, local rum, selected gins and fine whiskey. The “Ember Beach Club” is a central meeting place, oasis for live music and water sports activities. Designed by a celebrity chef from Singapore, guests will find a world-class selection of meats and fresh seafood grilled over the open fire.

A One&Only Spa by Chenot, a fitness center, a Pilates studio, a yoga pavilion overlooking the ocean, tennis, world-class Els Club golf courses, Hobie Cat Sailing, stand-up paddling, jet-skiing and kitesurfing complete the experience Offer of the resort.
