Ngala Treehouse: andBeyond sensational tree house in South Africa

No electric light, no electricity and no Wi-Fi – but a fantastic view of the wildlife: The new Ngala Treehouse by the Safari specialist and lodge operator andBeyond in the 14,700 hectare Ngala Private Game Reserve promises a real jungle adventure – right on the Border to the Kruger National Park.

The four-story designer tree house is surrounded by lush jackalberry and marula trees. From the top floor, guests have a clear view of the flora and fauna of the private nature reserve. With a bit of luck, even the “Big Five” can be observed very close, but at a perfect safety distance. The two rare white lions that live in the Ngala Private Game Reserve also stop by occasionally.

Depending on what you like, guests can spend the night in the closed bedroom with a king-size bed, hot shower and toilet on the third level or on the roof with a view of the starry sky. There is always a well-stocked bar for the sundowner – and a coffee station with snacks for breakfast to wake you up in the wilderness in style. Despite “Digital Detox”, six solar panels ensure that the camera batteries can be charged.

Because sustainability is a top priority at andBeyond, the tree house was prefabricated from parts so as not to damage the surroundings during construction. It can therefore be dismantled or relocated at any time. All shower and toilet waste ends up in the underground bio-treatment system. The Ngala Treehouse can be booked from EUR 520 per night for a maximum of two adults and up to two children – but only in combination with a stay in the andBeyond Ngala Safari Lodge or in the andBeyond Ngala Tented Camp.
