New resort in the South of France: LUX* comes to Europe for the first time

LUX* Resorts & Hotels, previously only represented in the Indian Ocean and China, is moving to the South of France for the first time: In 2023, the new LUX* La Baraquette Resort & Residences is set to open near the port city of Marseillan in the Languedoc region – in the middle of a private vineyard and with spectacular views of the Étang de Thau lagoon with its world-famous oyster beds.

Slow Life Architects from Barcelona took their inspiration for the design of LUX* La Baraquette from the traditional architecture of the farmhouses and winegrowers’ houses in the south of France with their stone walls. The renowned interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violan is responsible for the Mediterranean ambience of the bright and spacious interiors.

84 suites and 167 residences

In addition to 84 suites for the guests of the resort, there are also 167 residences on the property that are offered for sale – from flats to terrace villas to pool villas directly on the water. Prices range from EUR 300,000 for a one-bedroom Garden Suite to a whopping EUR 4.5 million for a luxurious Waterfront Villa.

Marseillan is a charming port town with a bustling market and numerous restaurants and cafés. The Languedoc region is considered the largest wine-growing area in the world. In addition to the relaxed southern French charm, the region offers around 300 days of sunshine a year. For hikers, a variety of opportunities await in the great outdoors between historic villages, towns and castles – and for skiers, the peaks of the Pyrenees are only a day trip away.
