New all-inclusive luxury resort in the Maldives

Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts has opened a new all-inclusive luxury resort in the Maldives: The VARU by Atmosphere is located in the Malé Atoll and can be reached by speedboat in 40 minutes. The 108 accommodations are distributed among 39 Beach Front Villas directly on the beach and 69 Overwater Villas in the turquoise lagoon. All have private pools and minimalist design with typical Maldivian interiors and lively splashes of color.

For the hotel group, the new luxury resort is already the fifth location in the Maldives. The Atmosphere Kanifushi was the first resort to open its doors in December 2013. The COOEE OBLU by Atmosphere at Helengeli followed in November 2015 and the flagship OZEN by Atmosphere at Maadhoo in July 2016. The latest addition to the brand was the OBLU Select at Sangeli, which opened in July 2018.

Five restaurants and bars are open to guests of the VARU by Atmosphere. For example, the overwater restaurant “NÜ” serves Mediterranean seafood specialities overlooking the lagoon and the ocean. The resort also includes a diving and water sports center, a spa, a fitness area, and a kids club. The island’s house reef is home to manta rays and a diverse underwater world.

For the Maldives, the all-inclusive concept of the luxury resort is quite unusual: The “VARU Plan” not only includes a variety of meals and high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages around the clock, but also in-villa service, spa treatments, excursions, and other amenities. “VARU” comes from the local language Dhivehi and means as much as “a life in abundance, strength, resilience and authenticity”.
