Mega project “Crossroads Maldives” opens its first resorts

Finally, The “Crossroads Maldives”, in which several, interconnected resorts share an entertainment island, recently celebrated the opening of the first two hotels. With several months delay, the Hard Rock Hotel Maldives and the SAii Lagoon Maldives from Hilton’s Curio Collection are now welcoming their first guests.

The Crossroads Maldives is a recreational project on nine artificial islands at Emboodhoo Lagoon, which are linked by regular boat traffic – just 15 minutes by speedboat from the international airport and the capital Male. The two opened hotels will be followed by seven more.

The Maldives’ first luxury marina and more than 60 shops, luxury boutiques, cafes, bars and restaurants along a 800-meter-long beach promenade are also designed to attract holidaymakers from other Maldivian hotels and locals for day trips. There is also a cultural center with products of local artisans and artists, a marine adventure center, a multipurpose hall for meetings, parties and workshops, and a water sports and diving center.

The new Hard Rock Hotel Maldives blends contemporary design with tropical architecture. Among the 178 accommodations are studios, suites, beach and water villas. Music enthusiasts can enjoy complimentary Fender guitars and Crosley turntables for in-room jam sessions or exclusive deals such as the “The Sound of Your Stay” music program. The Elephant & The Butterfly restaurant serves Latin American cuisine.

Hilton’s Curio Collection SAii Lagoon Maldives, with its 198 rooms, suites and water villas, caters especially to guests waiting for their connecting flights during a stopover. Guests can dine in the Seafood Bar “Miss Olive Oyl” and “Mr Tomyam” with Thai cuisine. They also have access to the “Crossroad Maldives” offer – for example the “Hard Rock Cafe Maldives” with authentic American cuisine or the “Cafe del Mar Maldives”, with which the well-known beach club from Ibiza first appears in the Indian Ocean.
