Luxury in Tuscany: Villa La Massa with new suites and a new pool

Villa La Massa is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful luxury hotels in Tuscany. The location directly on the banks of the Arno, which winds here between gentle hills towards Florence, is unique. The member of the “Leading Hotels of the World” started the summer season 2020 with ten new suites, a new pool and a new restaurant.

Only 15 minutes by car from Florence city center, Villa La Massa is an insider tip for Tuscany lovers who want to explore the metropolis’ museums and cultural treasures on the one hand, but on the other hand are looking for the tranquility and spaciousness of a rural property. The main house “Villa Nobile”, the four other villas and the chapel are part of a ten-hectare park with cypresses and olive trees that are used to produce their own olive oil.

The ten new suites at Villa La Massa are located in a 17th-century building called “La Limonaia”, in which lemons were once cultivated. All have a private garden or balcony with views of the water or the Chianti vineyards. Local craftsmen, traditional Tuscan colors and regional products were selected for the design – from the fabrics to the marble.

Villa La Massa: 51 rooms and suites in five historic villas

There are now a total of 51 rooms and suites in the five historic villas of the Medici estate, which not only reflect the architecture of the Renaissance, but also the lifestyle of the Italian nobility. The two historic villas “Casa Colonica” and “Villino” can each be booked exclusively.

Surrounded by olive and lemon trees is the new pool, which is located next to the also new bistro “L´Oliveto”. Here, guests can immerse themselves in the culinary traditions of Tuscany in a casual atmosphere – an alternative to the legendary fine dining restaurant “Il Verrocchio” with the supposedly most beautiful view of Italy. Highlights for connoisseurs are also the historic wine cellar for private tastings and the “Mediceo Bar & Pool Bar”.

Villa La Massa is the sister hotel of Villa d’Este on Lake Como. Two nights including breakfast and a three-course dinner in “Il Verrocchio” can be booked for two people from EUR 983. The price includes the daily shuttle to Florence city center, the use of the Arno Spa and a late check-out until 5 p.m., which is available throughout the 2020 season.
