Luxury in Tuscany: New Suites for Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco

Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany is considered one of the most exclusive luxury resorts in Europe. On 2 June, the more than 800-year-old estate of Chiara and Massimo Ferragamo reopens its doors in the UNESCO World Heritage Val d’Orcia near Montalcino. The most important news are 19 additional suites with direct access to the infinity pool – including panoramic views over a unique landscape.

Tuscan cuisine with a “Brunello di Montalcino”

In designing the new accommodation, the owners once again relied on designer Teresa Bürgisser, who had already breathed her unmistakable Tuscan flair into the existing rooms of Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco. Once again, she combined antique pieces, custom-made furniture classics and local handicrafts with modern comfort and the latest technology, which discreetly blends into the rustic-elegant ambience.

The traditional “Osteria La Canonica” with its dreamy terrace has also been newly renovated. Here and in the elegant “Ristorante Campo del Drago”, chef Matteo Temperini celebrates authentic Tuscan cuisine with fresh ingredients from the region and the hotel’s organic garden. This is accompanied by fine wines from the hotel’s vineyard. During so-called “vertical tastings” in the wine cellar, guests can also taste six of the best vintages of the hotel’s own “Brunello di Montalcino”.

42 suites and eleven luxury villas with heated pools

Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco now has a total of 42 suites. Like the multi-award-winning spa, they are all housed in the Borgo – the medieval village of the estate, which today forms the heart of the resort. There are also eleven luxury villas in restored farmhouses from the 17th and 18th centuries with heated pools, terraces and gardens on the more than 2,000-hectare estate.

Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco was ranked 3rd in Italy, 5th in Europe and 55th among the top 100 hotels in the world by “Travel + Leisure” in 2019. Prices for the cheapest suite usually range from EUR 1,100 to 1,500 per night, including breakfast, from June to October. The villas with room for six to eight people cost between EUR 11,000 and 13,500 per night.
