EDITION Hotels plans to open seven new locations on three continents in 2021 – in Rome, Madrid, Dubai, Reykjavik, Tampa, Mexico, and Tokyo. The luxury lifestyle brand of Ian Schrager and Marriott International will thus grow from currently eleven to 18 properties within a few months. The new openings in 2021 at a glance:
The Reykjavik EDITION: In a prime location in the centre of Iceland’s capital – right next to the Harpa Concert Hall – 253 rooms and suites, a rooftop, a restaurant, a bar and a café are planned. Opening: summer 2021.
The Tokyo EDITION, Ginza: Following the successful launch of The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon in autumn 2020, The Tokyo EDITION, Ginza is the next step. The newly built accommodation on Chuo Street – one of the city’s biggest entertainment and shopping destinations – includes 78 rooms and suites, three restaurants, a rooftop bar and a fitness centre. Opening: autumn 2021.
The Rome EDITION: The first EDITION Hotel in Italy is housed in a historic building from the early 20th century and will have 95 rooms and suites – including a “Penthouse Suite” with a private, 120-square-metre terrace. A typical Italian restaurant and a roof terrace with bar and pool are the highlights. Via Veneto and Piazza Barberini are just a few steps away. The Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and the Borghese Gardens are also within a short walk. Opening: autumn 2021.
The Madrid EDITION: Near the Puerta de Sol in the heart of the Spanish capital, The Madrid EDITION is currently under construction with 200 rooms and suites, some of which have spacious terraces. A restaurant, cocktail bar, roof terrace, outdoor pool, fitness centre, and a spa complete the facilities. Guests can reach Madrid’s three most important art museums in just a few minutes on foot. Opening: autumn 2021.
The Dubai EDITION: EDITION Hotels are already represented in Abu Dhabi. Now the Marriott brand will also open a property in Dubai downtown – opposite the Dubai Mall. The Dubai EDITION was designed by LW Design Group LLC and consists of 210 rooms and suites, three dining establishments, a pool, a spa and a fitness centre. Opening: autumn 2021.
The Riviera Maya EDITION: In the new destination of Kanai on the Mexican Caribbean coast, The Riviera Maya EDITION will be launched in less than a year on a pristine beach. Plans call for 180 rooms and suites, six dining establishments, a beach club and a destination spa. The most spacious accommodation will be the 206-square-metre “Penthouse Suite”. Opening: winter 2021.
The Tampa EDITION: The fifth EDITION Hotel in the USA is located in the new Water Street Tampa neighbourhood and will have 172 rooms and suites as well as six F&B outlets. This also includes a bar on the roof terrace. A 204-square-metre “Penthouse Suite” is not to be missed, nor is a spa and fitness centre. Tampa’s best restaurants and shopping are in the immediate vicinity. Opening: winter 2021.
