Hotel Opening

Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower: The skyscraper with the UFO on the roof

The Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened the second hotel of the “Hyatt Regency” brand in Spain: the new Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower is the former Hotel Hesperia Barcelona Tower, which has been extensively renovated in recent months. With its location on the edge of the new financial district of Barcelona between the airport and the city center, it should appeal primarily to business travelers.

The striking high-rise was designed by renowned architect Richard Rogers, who became famous with the Center Pompidou in Paris, the Millennium Dome in London and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. The top of the 105-meter-high tower is crowned by a glass dome, which gives the impression that aliens have just landed here with their spaceship. It houses a restaurant with a unique view of Barcelona.

The 280 rooms and 41 suites of the Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower also offer an impressive view of the city skyline. They are all equipped with a walk-in closet, a luxurious bathroom and large wall mirrors. The presidential suite on the 26th floor has two bedrooms, an office and two large terraces. The lobby is equipped with a 189 square meter LED screen – one of the largest in Europe.

The “Terrum” is a new restaurant concept, which is managed by two-star chef Oscar Velasco. The “Axis Bar” with terrace invites you to cocktails, snacks and sandwiches. A rich breakfast buffet awaits you every day in the “Azimut” restaurant for the perfect start to the day. The “Metropolitan Health Club & Spa” is considered one of the best gyms in Spain. 24 event and conference rooms, an auditorium with 500 seats and a hall for up to 1,800 people complete the hotel’s offer.
