Hotel Opening

European flair in China: Kempinski opens in Nanjing

The old Chinese capital Nanjing welcomes a new Kempinski: The newly opened Kempinski Hotel Nanjing is located in the cultural center and only a few minutes from the central business district. Some of the city’s most famous attractions, such as the Xi’an Arch, the ruins of Ming Palace and the Confucius Temple, are nearby. Even the landmarks of Nanjing – the Purple Mountain in the east and the floating lights of the Qinhuai River in the west – can be reached in no time.

The design of this luxury hotel is a contemporary interpretation of the splendor and elegance of the 17th-century Nanjing Palace. The 336 rooms and suites offer breathtaking views of the majestic mountains and the city’s colorful skyline. Earth tones such as green, gray and brown contrast with luxurious marble and gold accents – a harmonious blend of the elaborate Ming Dynasty style and European elegance.

Luxurious bathrooms with freestanding bathtubs, walk-in closets, premium audio systems and spacious work areas are standard at Kempinski Hotel Nanjing. A professional gym, a pool overlooking lush gardens, as well as steam rooms and private suites for massage and beauty treatments at the Serene Spa complete the facilities.

The culinary offer ranges from international cuisine in the “Local Gaate All Day Dining” on German food in the new Kempinski restaurant concept “Frieda” to Chinese dishes in “Jin Kai Lou” – complemented by a deli for in between and the “Fang Mo Bar & Lounge “for a cocktail in the evening with a view over the city. On the 24th floor, the Executive Lounge offers personalized service and spaces for smaller meetings. The pillarless ballroom is suitable for events with up to 1,200 guests.
