Bold design for the Eternal City: W Rome opens in September

In Via Liguria in Rome – directly at the Spanish Steps – the Mariott brand W Hotels Worldwide will open its first location in Italy in September: For the new W Rome, a historic palazzo was transformed into an exclusive lifestyle hotel. The pool and the bar on the roof terrace are a real special feature in the Eternal City.

The usual bold design of the W Hotels in Rome focuses on the glamour of the 1970s: colourful furniture meets old stone walls, while wooden floors with herringbone patterns merge with modern marble surfaces. Many of the 147 rooms and 15 suites have a balcony or terrace, which is particularly generous in the “Extreme Wow Suite” with 140 square metres.

The culinary programme at the W Rome includes the “Giano” restaurant by Sicilian chef Ciccio Sultano, the “W Lounge” with live music, DJ sets and cocktails, the somewhat hidden, intimate “Giardino Clandestino” and the rooftop bar “Otto”, where guests can enjoy the sensational view with cocktails, crudo ham and pizza.

The pool area – the so-called “WET Deck” – is also located on the roof terrace. The brand’s wellness concept at the W Rome is led by Italian athlete Pietro Boselli, who is installing the first “FUEL x Petra Studio Gym” here. The wide-ranging offer extends from individual training programmes to high-intensity workouts and boxing to yoga.
