Antigua: Jumby Bay Island presents new beach suites

The luxury resort of Jumby Bay Island, part of the prestigious Oetker Collection, has completed the second phase of a major refurbishment project. It was not until the beginning of this year that the public areas, restaurants, spa and water sports center in the private island off the coast of Antigua were redesigned opened. Now, just in time for the start of the winter season in December, the 28 beach suites will present themselves in a fresh design.

The 16 Beachside Suites, Ten Pool Suites and Two Estate Suites are just steps away from the white sand beaches. Their new look translates the Caribbean’s way of life into a modern, yet authentic style, blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior. The sunsets shining in soft reds, the lush green and the fresh blue nuances of the island provided the inspiration for a harmonious color palette.

Jumby Bay Island is about two miles from Antigua. The car-free island paradise stretches over 120 hectares, with a seven-kilometer-long coastline lined up with some of the Caribbean’s finest beaches. The renewed “veranda” in spring forms the heart of the resort. Here you will find the reception, a bar, a lounge and the new Italian restaurant “Osteria La Veranda”. The newly redesigned spa offers several saunas and five treatment rooms.

Lush palm trees provide plenty of shade around the new infinity pool on the beach, where the water sports center is located. In addition to the beach suites, the resort also offers 14 luxurious villas with private pools and two to four bedrooms, as well as 21 private residences. A Beachside Suite is available from USD 1,895 per night (plus 13 percent tax and 10 percent service charge). Included in the price are breakfast, lunch and dinner, all drinks, water sports activities, snorkelling trips and a children’s program.
