New Hotel Opening

Aman New York: Manhattan welcomes a new luxury hotel in a class of its own

With the Aman New York, a new luxury hotel will open this spring the likes of which New York has probably never seen before. Originally announced for 2020, the hotel sensation bears the signature of the famous designer Jean-Michel Gathy and is located in the historic Crown Building on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street – right in the heart of Manhattan.

The 83 rooms and suites start at 70 square metres and are all equipped with an open fireplace. Jean-Michel Gathy’s design takes its cue from the architecture of the 26-storey skyscraper completed in 1921, but also subtly showcases the brand’s Asian heritage in a clean, pared-down aesthetic.

Spa with 20-metre-long indoor pool

The highlight of the Aman New York will undoubtedly be the 2,300-square-metre spa, which extends over three floors and features a spectacular 20-metre indoor pool with fire pits and luxurious daybeds. The gastronomic offerings include an Italian and a Japanese restaurant, a jazz bar, a wine library and a garden terrace overlooking Central Park.

In addition to the hotel, 22 private Aman Residences are being built on the upper floors, including a five-storey penthouse. Their owners enjoy private access to the Aman Spa and the hotel’s restaurants. All residences have spacious terraces – and some even have heated pools. By the way, the luxury shops of Bulgari, Ermenegildo Zegna, Mikimoto and Piaget on the lower three levels of the skyscraper will remain.
