After three months of the Corona lock, Dubai welcomes tourists from all over the world again

The borders of Dubai were closed to all foreigners for three months because of the corona pandemic. Now the Emirate wants to receive tourists from all over the world again from 07 July 2020. Anyone who has a residence visa issued in Dubai can already return. So that the virus does not spread again, strict protocols apply to visitors and locals when entering the country.

The most important requirement: everyone who comes to Dubai must have a corona test that is not older than 96 hours. Otherwise, a PCR test is carried out directly at the airport. If the result is positive, tourists must isolate themselves at a government-provided facility for 14 days at their own expense.

In addition to a health declaration, which should be completed before entering the country, proof of valid health insurance is also required. Thermal screenings upon arrival are mandatory for everyone. Tourists must also download the Covid-19 DXB app onto their smartphone and register their data in the app.

Most corona restrictions on public life have now been lifted or relaxed in Dubai. Shopping centers and restaurants are also reopening, as are the Emirate’s beaches, where there is a minimum distance of two meters. There are even four meters between two groups of people.

Emirates has resumed flights to more than 40 destinations – including Frankfurt, Vienna and Zurich. Changing trains in Dubai is already possible without any problems. From 15 July, the Airbus A380 will also be used again – initially on the connections to London-Heathrow and Paris CDG. Emirates had temporarily shut down its 115 A380s in total after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. Currently only the Boeing 777s are flying.
